![]() Update: Additional information as requested by server is a root-server hosted at ĭig example. I did not configure the http-servers in any way. Host from my home machine returns my server's ip.ĭNS Record for the domain name is: Name: Type: A TTL: 3600 Target: Now the part I don't unterstand: While I can connect to the teamspeak / ssh through the server's domain name, I cannot connect to the http-Server through the domain name (Neither curl nor browser):Ĭurl, curl, curl from my home machine all yield no response from the server (only the eventual timeout).Ĭurl from the server itself yields the nginx/apache example document (which is the expected result). I can access all servers via IP-Address (Teamspeak Client / Curl / openSSH). nginx / apache2 (dockerized) (Tried both, one at a time of course) on port 80.So I just set up my first personal webserver and it is mostly working fine. Never register your domain with your web hosting service. You can find hosts that allow you to have up to 20 different websites on one account for free which should allow you plenty of options. First question on StackOverflow ever, thanks in advance for your help -) If you will be using more than one domain name or run more than one website, it's important to select a web host that allows add-on domains.
